Hey Guys,

Today it is all about a terms (word pairs) which you would be in need of almost every single day in your life…..

 

Let’s slowly peep into them…. just going by the flow……

 

1. So what?

This could be used in the sense “What…. because of doing an act or action”…. meaning it is very much ok….

 

Hey, you missed the school bus!

So what?

I shall ask my brother to drop me out there at school.

2. Why me?

Hey…. that is actually quite important and common as well….. as most often many of us would use it…..

 

This could be used in situations when you want to express “Why should it happen to me… or why it is me”….. meaning that you didn’t want those bad stuff happening it to you….. and you would have felt that you have committed no fault…… 

 

This is most often used by us when we feel a bit frustrated with life’s problems or mishaps….. 

As humans we would feel…. probably it could have not happened or at least that…. it could have happened to some one else…..

 

 

They have removed me from the finale contestants list!!

Why me?

 

 

3. Why so?

This could be used in the sense that “Why is something like that”

 

They don’t choose obese girls in our dance crew.

Why so? That’s too bad…

 

 

4. Is it?

This means you are just on doubt “whether it is actually so”…. when things are actually a little unbelievable you could probably use it…..

 

She didn’t actually do the tests well, but she has been declared the winner.

Is it?

 

Tuesday is a holiday.

Is it?

 

 

5. Am I?

This is used in the sense “when you are pretty unsure regarding something related to your own self”

 

You are looking too matured in this outfit.

Am I?

 

You are just looking like a professional.

Am I?

 

 

6. Did they?

This is used to clarify “whether some regulation or fact was announced or insisted by someone”

 

They have told us to compulsarily attend the training programme.

Did they?

 

The team has insisted us to attend the meeting in formals?

Did they?

 

I hope all these simple day-to-day usage word pairs would have given you certain glimpse over simple terms to learn and use in English……
